This is the chapel where on February 25, 2000, gay Mormon Stuart Matis committed suicide because he didn't feel he could reconcile his Mormon beliefs with the fact that he was gay. A vigil was held at this chapel marking the ten year anniversary of his death with the purpose of raising awareness that there are Mormons, friends of Mormons, and former Mormons who wish to show compassion to gay LDS people and prevent more suicides. This chapel refused to let the small, peaceful vigil come on the property and blocked off their driveway with cones. This seemed like a cold-hearted and needless gesture.

  • My wife and I attended this congregation for a year in 2011. We found the people to be friendly and welcoming. The messages were uplifting and centered in Christ.

  • I grew up in Los Altos and attended church services in this beautiful and peaceful building. It was here that I first felt the influence of the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ and where I began my personal journey of faith in Jesus Christ that has endured my entire life. All people searching for the meaning of life and the fullness of truth are welcomed here.
